BECTA accreditation.

We will be revisiting the scope of the repository in the autumn in order to consider the most efficient and effective approaches to discovery and sharing of web based content and how the Becta quality principles can enhance resource discovery.

These principles can be viewed at http://industry.becta.org.uk/display.cfm?resID=16839.

The quality principles cover core pedagogic principles, covering issues such as inclusion and learner engagement and core design principles, covering issues such as resource design, accessibility and interoperability.

The principles are not a mandatory set of requirements or the basis for a 'kite mark' scheme.  They will be used by Becta as a basis for reviewing and evaluating resources within the Becta repository.

Your site will continue to be available to schools through the search service at the following web address                http://contentsearch.becta.org.uk/search/index.jsp?clear=y

As we continue to review our service we will keep you informed. Meanwhile if you have any queries about the new service please contact us at content@becta.org.uk
